The American Red Cross Heartland Chapter provided services to more than 110,000 people throughout Burt, Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington counties last year.
165,801 pints of blood were collected in the Omaha Metropolitan Area.
21,370 individuals were given information and referral services through the Emergency Services department.
19,050 children, youth and adults were certified in swimming and lifeguard training.
16,894 individuals were provided Community Disaster Education and disaster preparedness information.
15,204 people were certified in CPR, first aid and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
13,653 adults and children were provided assistance with food pantry, utility payments or summer cooling through the Emergency Services department.
2,271 military family members were briefed on Red Cross services.
1,464 individuals received prevention education on HIV/AIDS.
1,204 volunteers provided more than 76,003 hours of service for disaster response, classroom instruction, governance, administrative functions and other services.
1,126 individuals were educated on the Chapter’s newly developed CPR Made Simple program.
1,026 youth were certified in Babysitter’s Training.
864 military families were provided emergency communication services.
600 individuals were given Pandemic Flu information.
520 Airmen were briefed on Red Cross Services in FTAC.
245 households were responded to and given mental health counseling, shelter, food, clothing and/or financial assistance from house fire, flooding or storm damage.
216 family members scheduled, taped and distributed live video messages to deployed troops.
2 traces were initiated to reconnect families separated by war or armed conflict.
