However, the need for blood is increasing every year with the advance of medicine and technology and the number of blood donors is not. Host a Blood Drive – Thanks to thousands of generous blood drive coordinators around the country, the American Red Cross is able to collect the nearly 6 million units of blood used to treat patients each year. If you are interested in hosting a drive, please contact a Red Cross representative.

Spread the Word – Spread the word about the importance of blood donation by sharing your donor story or directing someone to our Web site. Bring a friend or a whole group of friends with you to donate. Our advocates are our most effective form of advertising, and you can help make the nation's blood supply stronger than ever.
